Clara Inés Nicholls is a Colombian agronomist with a Masters degree on entomology from Chapingo School of Graduate Studies in Mexico and a PhD on biological pest control from the University of California at Davis. Her research centers on the development of biodiverse groecosystems that sponsor biological control of pest populations.

María Elena Martínez is Global Alternatives Associate at CENSA and faculty member and researcher at the Center for Research and Advanced Studies in Social Anthropology in Mexico (CIESAS-Sureste).

Peter Rosset, Ph.D., is Global Alternatives Associate at CENSA, Researcher at the Center for the Study of Rural Change in Mexico (CECCAM), Co-coordinator of the Land Research Action Network (LRAN), Visiting Research Scientist at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, and staff member of La Via Campesina. He makes his home in Chiapas, Mexico.
